I really wish I was one of those people that was willing to link you to thousands of articles and photos that will explain to you why that sentence is one of the most obtuse fucking questions ever fucking asked. But if it’s not insanely apparent to you that race and colorism is a global fucking issue, then that is your own fault. You are choosing to be ignorant and it isn’t cute.
Well.. Actually, kind of, no.
Race isn’t as big of an issue in other parts of the world, like France, or South Korea (or at least it’s not institutionalized and is fairly innocent and naïve)for example. There is still racism in places like this, but it’s not as blatant or overblown or hateful as in the US. People who don’t live in the US have different experiences than people in the US with racism, and don’t necessarily pay attention to US news because they’re not in the US and it doesn’t really affect them. These people would also probably not know the US’ history with racism, or if they do, then not as detailed as it is, only the basics; the US had slaves, they abolished slavery and gave them equality (presumably).
Living in the US we can see the reasons as to why a lot more clearly than those in foreign countries who are only hearing about how awful racism truly is in the US because their foreign branches of their news teams have been sent out here to cover Ferguson. We shouldn’t write off their curiosity as willful ignorance to problems not even in or affecting their own countries.
God damn it
Just because people keep it quiet, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, it just means that the delusion that it’s ‘better’ is thicker, causee

Racism in Korea
Also Korea, like most asian countries is KNOWN for their colorism. I mean come on. Whitening ingredients in everything should be a fucking hint they don’t care for dark skin much and that there is a pressure to be as light skin as possible.
France, also I can’t believe how you can forget how much hate the Miss France beauty pageant winner got
One in three french people say they are racist
Christiane Taubira is welcomed by a child with the words “Hey, guenon[monkey], go and eat bananas!”
and there is no such thing as ‘innocent’ racism. The act of racism is oppressive. It’s looking at a person and seeing a flattened harmful stereotype. It’s a refusal to see a person and learn about them because they aren’t a person but a caricature with no actual humanity. This refusal to fucking google “_______ racism” is disgusting, because I guarantee you, you’re gonna find some shit. those links were on the front page when I looked up ‘korean racism’ and ‘france racism’ it took like .018 seconds. I mean come on people, fucking google, ignorance is gross and to enforce your lack of knowledge without reading and research isn’t helping out anyone and you’re just making a fool of yourself while disregarding the harm you’re doing by wallowing in your own ignorance.
